HV-MTL holders, get amped! Your bots are finally getting their long awaited Amps, which are the key to upgrading them from EVO1 to EVO2!

On Monday, HV-MTL co-owner Gabe confirmed that Amps are still in play and teased that he’ll be giving the community a full update very soon.

“Tomorrow I’ll be announcing the exact date when HVMTL holders will finally be able to claim their amps,” he tweeted. “@AdamWeitsman has already stepped up giving the project everything it needs to move forward. Honestly I don’t see any limits for this collection. We’re just getting started.”

Amps have been part of the HV-MTL lore since 2023, when holders earned them for entering the Rift, running vote for vote campaigns, and cleaning up oil spills in their robots’ homes.

While we don’t yet know everything Gabe and Weitsman have planned with Amps, we do know that the duo is building a mint site where holders will be able to log in and claim them. We also know HV holders will need three to six Amps to upgrade their HV-MTLs from their current EVO1 type to their EVO2 form, and that these Amps will be transferable NFTs. So if you never earned one, fear not!

As we wait for tomorrow’s announcement, it’s clear that distributing Amps and upgrading HV-MTLs is just the beginning. Gabe and Weitsman have big plans for these bots.

Yesterday, Gabe shared an update on the collection’s highly anticipated Otherside ready 3D models.

“We’re going to take longer than other collections to enter Otherside because we’re creating high quality avatars for our holders but we’re basically in contact with Yuga every day,” he wrote. “I want people to see our avatars and say damn that looks amazing I need one.”

He also teased that he’d like to build out  an entire HV-MTL Otherside world, in the same vein as Meebits Meetropolis and the Apes’ Swamp!

“Yes, I definitely want to build our own map/experience but first I need to sort out this mess, deliver the amps to holders, create a new website and move to Evo2,” he said yesterday.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Weitsman and Gabe purchased the HV-MTL collection from Faraway Gaming Studios earlier this month with the promise of top tier devs, great art, and HV-MTLs’ inclusion on Otherside.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow all things HV-MTL and will let you know when and how you can claim your Amps! Stay tuned for updates!
