GOING ONCE, GOING TWICE, SOLD: This CryptoPunk And Its Matching NFTiff Pendant Sold At Christie's Today For $176K USD

A CryptoPunk exceeded expectations at Christie’s ‘Beyond The Screen’ auction today after it sold for $26,000 USD over its estimated value.

On Tuesday, Christie’s ‘Beyond The Screen Auction,’ which featured 20 works from artists who ‘pushed the boundaries of digital technologies,’ came to an end. CryptoPunk #1423, along with its matching physical Tiffany & Co NFTiff Pendant, sold for $176,400 USD after Christie’s estimated the lot to be worth between $100,000 USD and $150,000 USD.

CryptoPunk #1423 is a two attribute male Punk with a thin mohawk and small shades. Based on these traits, CryptoPunk #1432 is the 8723rd most punk CryptoPunk, according to Rarity Sniper.

“Remember yesterday when all of crypto twitter said punks were dead,” CryptoPunk dealer Punks OTC tweeted following today’s sale.

 

CryptoPunks aren’t the only Yugaverse collection making the rounds at some of the most prestigious auction houses in the world this month. As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Sotheby’s will be listing a gold-fur Bored Ape, its matching mutants, and a gold doggo on June 18th.

 

“This 2021 relic will come up at auction in a few days,” Sotheby’s VP and Head of Digital Art& Contemporary Art Specialist Michael Bouhanna tweeted last week along with a photo of Bored Ape #8552. “Let’s see where this is going today.”
