Yuga Labs Co-Founder Gordon Goner was tweeting like a soothsayer last night, imploring the Web3 community to return to the swamp and inspiring the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s latest copypasta trend!

Monday  morning was insane as everyone watched the Tokyo Stock Exchange’s stock market index, the Nikkei, dump 12% . After that, Bitcoin dipped, leveraged traders got blown out, memecoins got smashed, and NFTs from every ecosystem did not have a gm.

With blood in the streets, and in the swamp, Yuga Labs Co-Founder Gordon Goner took to social media with a warning to his fellow Web3 degenerates of what’s to come and a message of hope to those who ‘return to monke.’

"The end is nigh,” Goner tweeted along with a photo of an ape with an outstretched hand. “Lo! The trumpets sound! Repent you faithless fucks! Sell your stupid little chibis and puppets. Return to monke.”

Following Goner’s tweet, Apes both old and new, from the faithful to those who have strayed from the swamp, took to the timeline to share photos of their Apes with the caption ‘Return to monke’ in the latest copypasta trend!
