HI HO!: ApeChain Is Digging Uncle Mac’s Latest Proof Of Work Project MineBoys!

From primates to prospectors, Uncle Mac had everyone panning hashes yet again. But instead of searching for digital gold, they struck digital treasure with “MineBoys,” a new project that combines art with proof of work mechanics!

It was an onchain October for the creator of ApeChain’s Gold Mine and founder of Not A Punks Cult, Uncle Mac, as he dug deep in the trenches to launch a collection that blends POW with PFPs that are mined not minted.

 

“MineBoys can only be created and found, by doing proof-of-work Mining (like bitcoin),” Unlce Mac tweeted. “When you're mining on MineBoy, your device is: Looking at a set of data (specific to you), cryptographically encoding that data as a SHA256 Hash, and then checking that Hash's ending (the last 5 digits) to see if it matches a valid pattern.”

For most of the month, Uncle Mac’s latest mining experience flew under the radar. But as over 130,000 new wallets popped up on ApeChain in the past three days because of his initiative, everyone started taking note.

 

"Pretty sure a TON of these txns are coming from  @Unclemac_eth and his MineBoy experience,” GobsOnApe Founder James Hall tweeted.  “I’ve been so heads down on things haven’t been able to dig in.”

 

Tonight, the first season of MineBoy is officially over, and Uncle Mac says he’s undecided on whether these MineBoys will ever be mineable again. But, he teased that the proof of work mechanics seen over the past month could be used by other projects on ApeChain.

“MineBoy is modular, this system can be used for any collection, any drop, if you're a project founder and want your community to be able to find something whilst Mining, reach out,” he said. “ MineBoy™ mining, MineBoys NFTs and $MNESTR Token is only available on @apecoin @ApeChainHUB.As far as I know, no other blockchain has, or has ever had, anything like this.
