A new degenerate game has launched on ApeChain, posing a simple question: Will the price of Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Solana be higher or lower 69 seconds from now?
On Wednesday, the Arbitrum Foundation and ApeChain Banana Bill backed gambling platform, Clutch Markets, debuted a new mini-game called Ape 69, available exclusively to the platform’s Clutch Puppy NFT holders.
The game is as simple as it is addictive. Players pick one of the three crypto majors to bet on, then place a wager between 0.001 and 100 $Ape on whether the price will be higher or lower than it is now, exactly 69 seconds later. Get it right and you 1.5x your bet, get it wrong and you lose your $Ape!
“Some tips are watch the trends before placing your bet and start with smaller bets to learn patterns,” 0xSimpleFarmer said. “This is actually a really great tool for becoming better at timing your trades as well and it’s a really basic form of options trading. I actually originally built this platform as an options trading learning tool.”
Even when players lose, the broader $Ape ecosystem wins because all lost $Ape is sent to a burn wallet.
“One of the coolest features of $Ape 69 is that iys the first ApeCoin sink on ApeChain,” 0xSimpleFarmer said. “What that means is every time someone loses a bet, we all win. We are going to be taking all the ApeCoin generated by this platform and sending it directly to the burn wallet. So this is going to be the first sink for ApeCoin directly on ApeChain. We understand there are some unlocks coming so we want to bring that supply down.”
