'IT'S GOING TO BE SICK': Yuga Labs Has Been Working Behind The Scenes On The IRL Clubhouse And Wants The Community To Help Build It!
Yuga Labs has been working on the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s in real life Miami Clubhouse and will be inviting Apes to give their two Satoshis on everything from the décor to the menu ‘very very soon,’ according to the club’s creative Director Jeff Nicholas.
On Tuesday, Yuga Labs held its fifth Boring Meeting in community Club Discord channel and gave the community an update on the IRL clubhouse.
“We are continuing to work on the clubhouse,” Nicholas said. “ Its going to be sick but it takes a long time. It is one of the key things that we’ve been working on this year, and we will have a lot more info on how everyone can be part of the process coming very very very soon. We’ve learned a lot. We’ve been in the background just getting a lot of I’s dotted and tees crossed. It’s going to be sick and everyone is going to be a part of helping us build the damn thing.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs first announced that the company was building an IRL Clubhouse in Miami during the club’s first ever Bored Meeting in February.
Since then, Nicholas has revealed that the vibe that Yuga Labs is going for at the clubhouse is BAYC meets the classic TV show Cheers.
“Think about it like a high-end dive bar,” Nicholas said during June's Bored Meeting. “I’ve been saying not so divey that your feet stick to the floor, but also not so high end that its uncomfortable. Dave on our team likes to say that we are not building Cheesecake Factory, we are not building Hakkasan. But it’s more like our real-life version of Cheers with a ton of member perks and great vibes. It’s going to be really really sick.”
At the time, Nicholas also explained that this is our community's clubhouse and that Yuga Labs wants to build it together to make it for Apes!
“The idea here is we are going to build this fucking thing together,” Nicholas said. “Everyone is going to have a voice in making this thing really special and making it a place that we all want to go to, and if you’re in Miami that you want to live in. Its not a hotel, but I’m just saying it’s a place that you’ll want to be.”
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the IRL clubhouse and will let you know when and how you can help Yuga Labs with this boring build. Stay tuned for updates!
