With the first iteration of Yuga Labs’ always on Otherside set to launch later this summer, BAYC member Tony T decided to lock in some prime real estate before the metaverse becomes a reality, purchasing Otherdeed #90 for 12.9648 ETH or $32,900 USD.

Otherdeed #90 is a Tier 3 Sludge environment on Biogenic Swamp sediment with Durinia, Runa, Petrified, and Whisper resources. While its digital beauty is impressive, the real selling point of this plot is its location, that’s right down the street from the BAYC!

While we don’t yet know exactly what owning a center island Otherdeed means, we do know that Tony T won’t have to wait long to find out.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs CEO Garga announced that Otherside will begin rolling out in phases starting in late June or early July. This rollout will kick off with a new game called Bathroom Blitz and continue into the persistent launch of the main islands.

“Big info dump in June, first ODK experience persistent in late June/early July,” Garga said on Discord earlier this week. “Next one a couple weeks after, and so forth until we get to full persistence for all the main islands (Nexus being the big one, but also The Swamp, Meetropolis). Need to do a phased approach turning on Otherside to make sure we're 1) giving time to squash bugs, 2) moving over to Unreal 5.5 (5.5 is way better for the AI tools that we've been developing, and way better for procedural generation of environments), 3) letting people enjoy all that Otherside has to offer.”

 

After this summer’s persistent launch, Yuga Labs is planning another major release in the winter, which is when Tony T, and every Voyager, will likely learn alot about their deeds.

“We're focused on two releases this year,” Garga said earlier this year. “June release for persistent world with all the things I've been talking about (main islands online, transacting on ApeChain, fun social features like Bubbles, Poker, etc, and ODK games like Bathroom Blitz) and a Winter release focused on Otherdeeds with a fast follow for resources starting to be emitted.”
