'MEEBITS.COME.HOME': Yuga Labs Announced That Meebits Will Be Going To Meetropolis This Spring!

The sun is out and the voxel vibes are high as Yuga Labs announced that the third stop on the Meebits MB 1 roadmap will be a trip to Meetropolis this later this year!

As Apes and Voyagers get ready to venture to the Bored Ape Yacht Club during Yuga Labs’ Apes Come Home event at the end of February, the company announced that Meebits will be moving and grooving around ‘Meetropolis’ this spring!

“Meebits. Come. Home,” Yuga Labs tweeted from its Meebits Twitter account with a photo of the Meetroplis skyline.

“Meebits need a proper introduction to Otherside,” Yuga Labs wrote in a blog post today. “Meebit avatars and Meetropolis are in their last phase of development, so hang tight, we’ve got something special cooking for MB1.3 this Spring. It’s our next thing."

This trip to Meetropolis will be the Yugaverse’s second look at the voxel collection’s city.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, a group of Meebits visited Meetropolis during an Otherside Focus Group event in Berlin on October 9th, 2023.

Take a look at Meetroplis below:

After Yuga Labs teased ‘Meebits. Come. Home.’ this afternoon, Yuga Labs’ Otherside General Manager, Eric Reid, teased that this event will feature some special guests.

“It’s going to be an event for Meebits on Meetropolis, but it’s also going to include other special guests and some new experimentation with what creators can do on Otherside,” Reid wrote. “It is our hope that this experiment starts to demonstrate the incredible power of Otherside for artists. With Proof, Moonbirds, and of course, the Punks, there are so many people with so much creativity to share. I view it as our privilege to work for them and expand their horizons on Otherside.”

Yuga Labs’ ‘Meebits. Come. Home.’ Event is the third activation that Yuga Labs will be doing for the voxel community since introducing the project’s MB1 roadmap on November 3rd, 2022.

“MB1 represents a beginning; the first chapter of this story,” Meebits former Brand Lead DannyGreene.Eth wrote in blog post at the time. “As the Meebits go adventuring, this evolving site will be your access to every experience along the way. There will be nine releases to MB1, and this new site will be a launchpad for each new experience, activation, or opportunity. For now, come play with one of your Meebits (or one of ours) and make them dance, float, or just “Meeb out” to some AI music powered by wrapsound’s digital boombox. Feels good to stretch those arms… and especially those legs.”

At part of the MB1 roadmap so far, Meebit holders have a gotten a free poster print of their voxel characters and Yuga Labs has introduced the ability for the Meebits to express their moods on chain!

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Meebits. Come. Home. event and will keep you posted on the project’s MB1 roadmap. Stay tuned for updates!
