ApeCoin DAO contributor and Special Council nominee, Br00no AKA Psychedelic Profits is running for the $Ape office to mitigate risk and enhance transparency!
The election season of 2023 is in full swing at ApeCoin DAO, with 21 contributors officially running to replace Yat Siu or Alexis Ohanian on the DAO's Special Council this summer.
Among the candidates vying for a position on the ApeCoin DAO's Special Council is ApeCoin DAO contributor Br00no.
"Rather than simply complain of a lack of transparency and oversight I’m offering to do something about it,” Br00no wrote on their ApeCoin DAO nominee page. “If you understand the value of putting highly qualified persons in place who are not part of the established “in” crowd, along with proper oversight and auditing, I’m here for you.”

1. How did you get into the ApeCoin DAO?
“Signed-up Day 1 after the grace of the Great Ape blessed me via ApeCoin airdrop.”
2. In a sentence or two, why should the community vote for you?
“I’m pushing for greater transparency and will do my best to institute proper oversight and auditing, with operational, legal, regulatory and financial risks to the DAO spelled out regularly in plain language and easily accessible to all token holders. As it should be.”
3. What would you like to accomplish if elected?
“See #2. My professional and personal background make me a uniquely ideal candidate to move greater transparency and risk awareness forward as part of the Special Council team. In the process ApeCoin DAO can be a shining example in the space.”
4. Where do you see the DAO a year from now?
“Dealing with regulatory risks and fiscal concerns that in hindsight will seem painfully obvious; same as anything that goes awry in crypto despite best intentions. Whether we meet those challenges head-on or get steamrolled by regulators and abused by bad actors will depend on the oversight processes and fail-safes we put in place ASAP.”
5. What makes you different from the other candidates?
“What makes me different is a “perfect storm” of experience to help raise awareness of, and help tackle, the concerns above. As a CFO I’ve dealt with securities regulators in various jurisdictions. I know first-hand what can and will go wrong absent proper processes. As an entrepreneur, creator, investor and adjudicator for arts funding I know the grants process from seed to success.”

The window to vote in the ApeCoin DAO's first round of Special Council voting opens on June 15th, and $Ape holders will have until June 21st to cast their votes and support their preferred nominees. After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election from June 22nd to 28th, during which the community will elect two Special Council members to replace Yat Siu and Alexis Ohanian on the board.
