MEET THE CANDIDATE: Dominic Is Running For Governance Working Group Steward

Charted Financial Analyst and ApeCoin DAO Contributor Dominic is running for Governance Working Group Steward with the goal of bringing his finance background and defi experience to the $Ape ecosystem!

 

The winter election season of 2023 is underway at the ApeCoin DAO, with seven $Apes officially running to be the DAO’s next Governance Working Group Steward. Among the candidates vying for this position is Dominic.




 

“I bring a strong background in finance and operations to the ApeCoin DAO, demonstrating a proven history of successfully navigating complex financial landscapes,” Dominic wrote on his candidate page. “Beyond my financial proficiency, I have excelled in various operational capacities, overseeing strategic planning, process optimization, and enhancing organizational efficiency. As a founding member and key contributor to a DeFi lending and borrowing protocol, I have played a crucial role in shaping its success. This hands-on experience has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of DeFi, the challenges of decentralized governance, and the nuances involved in navigating the ever-evolving crypto landscape. What distinguishes me is not only my existing expertise but also my commitment to staying ahead of industry developments. I am dedicated to continuous learning, staying informed about the latest trends, and adapting my skills to contribute effectively to the dynamic crypto environment.”

1. In a sentence or two why are you running for this position?

 

“I am enthusiastic about contributing to impactful initiatives and I firmly believe that a fresh and outside DeFi view brings significant value the ApeCoin DAO!”

 

2. How would you describe the role of a Governance Working Group Steward? What does this role entail?

 

“In my view, the Governance Working Group Steward plays a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing DAO governance processes, ensuring effective resource allocation, and implementing initiatives to improve overall organizational performance. The GWG shall also collaborate closely with the Special Council to align operational activities with the DAO’s goals, all while fostering transparent and inclusive governance.”

 

 

 3. Why are you the right person for the job?  How has your past experiences prepared you for this?

 

“I bring a strong background in finance and operations to the ApeCoin DAO, demonstrating a proven history of successfully navigating complex financial landscapes.  4. What ideas or initiatives would you like to enact if elected?

 

“I am enthusiastic about aligning ApeCoin DAO more closely with the DeFi space. Moreover, I am eager to establish a sound and professional treasury strategy and management that will greatly contribute to the overall well-being of the DAO.”

 

 5. If you could unilaterally change one thing at the DAO today what would you change or do?

 

“Establishing a more seamless, faster, and straightforward process for creating valuable AIPs, thereby optimizing workflow, saving time, and ensuring a user-friendly experience.”

 

 6. Where would you like to see the Governance Working Group a year from now?

 

“I would be delighted to witness the realization of my ideas and initiatives outlined in question number 4. Specifically, this involves expanding the utility of the $APE token within the wider DeFi ecosystem and establishing a professional treasury management with clearly defined responsibilities.”

 

 7. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

 

“From my perspective, ApeCoin and its entire ecosystem are a role model in the entire crypto/NFT space in building and managing a globally dispersed community. Ensuring the success of a community-owned and decentralized project like ApeCoin is of paramount importance, especially if we aim to onboard the next billion users to crypto. I would be delighted to be a part of ApeCoin’s visionary mission and put in the hard work required to bring ApeCoin and its ecosystem to the next level.”

The window to vote in the first round of the ApeCoin DAO’s Governance Working Group Steward election is currently open and $Ape holders will have until December 13th to cast their coins in support their preferred nominees.

 

After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become ApeCoin DAO Governance Working Group Steward candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election from December 14th through December 20th. During this second vote, the community will officially elect one of the five candidates to officially take office on January 1st, 2024.
