Sixth time’s the charm!
After buying and ripping five Mudwater boxes since ApeFest in search of a 1/1, Bored Ape Yacht Club member Jay Bleezie finally found what he was looking for Thursday, but only after a missed delivery and a trip to the post office!
A week after ordering his sixth Mudwater box on eBay for $800, Jay missed its delivery at his house and headed to his local post office to pick it up.
“I was stressed and the price was skyrocketing,” Jay said on last night’s Meet at the Clubhouse Space. “I Thought the seller would back out.I’m tracking the package.I left work early when they tried to deliver it andno one signed. So I Went to post office and the lady at said Its your lucky day,”
At the time, Jay didn’t know just how right she was.
That night, he went home, put on his Meta glasses and decided to record himself opening some packs.
“Alright, manifesting a legendary right now or a 1 of 1 I should say.”
Seconds later, that manifestation would become a reality.
“Wait a minute… no,” Jay said as he realized he just had the pull of a lifetime. “No. Nah. Oh my God. 1 of 1. 1 of fucking 1. No fucking way! oh my fucking God, oh my God!”
Jay had pulled the first ever 1/1 found in a physical Mudwater pack, a cracked ice version of card No. 49, dubbed “Good Boy Gary,” featuring the club’s iconic doggo immortalized as a statue!
After the pull, Jay told his friends around the swamp that he credited his good luck to the Koda plushie he bought at ApeFest.
“You know what it did, it was that Koda plushie. It was that lucky Koda butt,” Jay said on spaces. “I had to flip it over, I had to flip it over. i needed that special combo.”
Looking ahead, Jay has some options. He could keep the card, put it up for auction, get it graded or take Adam Weitsman up on his $100,000 bounty for the first 1/1 Mudwater pull.
