NFTS FOR NATURE: Del Mundo Holders Are Heading To The Polls To Vote On Where The Project’s $15K Nature Treasury Goes And Will Get Rewarded For It!

People powered positivity is coming to the blockchain tomorrow, and every Del Mundo holder is invited to help make the change they want to see in the world while getting rewarded for it!

On Wednesday, August 26 at 11 a.m. UTC, Del Mundos’ CLIMETA initiative will hold its inaugural vote, and every Del Mundo NFT holder will get the chance to decide how the project spends its $15,192.93 USD!

 

“CLIMETA VOTE #1 is coming WEDNESDAY AUGUST 26th at 11AM UTC,” the project tweeted. “For 48 hours, the Del Mundos community gets to decide how funds in the CLIMETA Nature Treasury are distributed. Real Money. Real Impact. Real World. We’re proving it can work. You get to prove what it's for. “

 

As the Gazette previously reported, CLIMETA is the main part of the Del Mundos’ “art meets impact” flywheel that was first announced earlier this year.

Revenue from the March Editions drop and the recent OpenSea open edition NFT mint were deposited into the initiative’s Nature Treasury, and now it’s up to holders to decide how it’s spent and where their collective impact will be made!

For this first vote, holders will choose between three organizations:

Ashden, which nurtures climate action rooted in local communities across the Global South and the UK.

Conservation Collective, which supports grassroots initiatives to protect the environment, restore nature and safeguard against climate change.

Gálapagos Conservancy, the leading US based nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring iconic species and ecosystems across the Galápagos Islands

 

“This first vote is an important milestone,” the Del Mundos tweeted. “It marks the completion of our Proof of Concept, testing the full underlying technology and mechanics behind CLIMETA in a live environment. At this stage, both the Nature Treasury and Rewards Pool are relatively small. The voter rewards in this first round will therefore be nominal, the goal isn't their monetary value yet, but to demonstrate that the system works end-to-end.”

By taking part in this week’s vote, Del Mundo holders won’t just get to help change the world. They’ll get rewarded for doing it, too!
