“This is not the last you’ve seen of the Arbinaut,” ApeCoin’s Head of DeFi, 0xSimpleFarmer, said today!

After one small step into the Otherside earlier this month, Arbitrum may now be getting ready to take one giant leap and continue building on the platform.

Earlier this month, over 1,228,000 wallets minted an Arbinaut NFT for free, which doubles as a playable avatar in the Otherside, and Arbitrum was blown away by the amount of Web3 interest!

“The Arbitrum 1 team was so impressed by the demand that they did a case study on the situation, and they want to expand the relationship,” 0xSimpleFarmer said on the Grateful Show today.

While nothing is official tonight, SimpleFarmer hinted that the success of last week’s mint could lead to funding from Arbitrum Gaming Ventures, which would be used to incentivize first time players to ape into the world and check out the Otherside; which he says is ApeChain’s “ultimate trump card” and the “Victor Wembanyama of Web3.”

“The Arbinaut comes in here and it was a critical activation,” SimpleFarmer said. “Arbitrum Gaming Ventures is looking to expand their investments within the gaming ecosystem in the Arbitrum orbit, and Otherside is the only viable gaming metaverse that’s live and good.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, onboarding the broader Arbitrum ecosystem, which ApeChain is a part of,  would be huge because it has over 1.37 million active wallets and $16.63 billion in total value locked onchain!

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow all things Arbitrum on ApeChain and will let you know what’s next for the blockchain’s Arbinaut NFTs on the Otherside. Stay tuned for updates!
