ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Wants To Make A Platform For The Yugaverse To license Its IP And Generate Revenue For The DAO!

As NFTs make a comeback, an Ape Improvement Proposal for an $Ape-powered licensing platform is on the ballot this cycle. If passed, it would allow Yugaverse NFT holders to register their assets and find opportunities for their J-Pegs while creating a new revenue stream for the DAO going forward.

AIP-481, titled “Building the Modular IP Layer with ApeCoin,” is an ecosystem fund allocation proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor and IP3 Founder JackIP3.

 

“IP3.cc allows holders to determine their own IP use for their asset, providing these licenses on an open marketplace for all consumers to be able to purchase, utilizing the IP within the agreed legal parameters,” JackIP3 wrote. “It is a much wider IP use case, providing for greater opportunity; overall increase in brand awareness through increased decentralized IP usage. This AIP is focused on increasing the capacity of IP utility, whilst providing the legal framework and monetization structure to support it. As we support all NFT collections, this will positively affect the utility of ApeCoin also.”

 

IP3’s website is already operational, and this AIP would provide the platform with a boost to become the preferred NFT IP solution in the swamp and the broader Web3 world.

In total, IP3 is requesting the ApeCoin DAO allocate $469,000 USD worth of $Ape to AIP-481. Here’s a look at the project’s budget:

 

If AIP-481 passes, ApeCoin DAO will receive 50% of all fees generated by IP3 in perpetuity, with all trading and licensing fees paid in $Ape, according to JackIP3.

The window to vote on AIP-481 is currently open, and ApeCoin DAO contributors have until Wednesday, August 28th, to cast their coins and vote on this proposal.
