From page turners to pack rippers, a good book and great Vibes are now sharing shelf space at the country's largest bookstore chain as Pudgy Penguins and Moonbirds continue waddling and flocking their way into retail.

On Sunday, posts about Orange Cap Games' Vibes TCG being stocked at Barnes & Noble locations across the United States began hitting the timeline.

“At Barnes & Nobles buying a gift card for my spouse’s birthday today and look what I saw and bought,” Lil Pudgy Cate.TV tweeted along with a photo of these new Vibes packs.

Cate.TV wasn't the only collector who spotted Pax Pengu peeking out from among the bestsellers. VeeFriends community member Saugy Waffles also tweeted after finding four packs at his local Barnes & Noble.

News of Vibes TCG hitting Barnes & Noble stores comes just days after the game officially dropped in Target stores across the country.

Think about that for a second. Pudgy Penguins, Moonbirds, and other frens from the Web3 world are now sharing shelf space at roughly 700 Barnes & Noble locations and more than 2,000 Target stores alongside the likes of Pokémon, Disney, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, and more.

“This is another giant leap for Pudgy Penguins IP and getting holders' IP in front of millions of people,” Pudgy Penguins’ Community Lead PP McGhee told the Gazette. “Really awesome getting that retail spot right next to Pokemon and bringing other web3 IP into the stores with us. One small step for Pudgy. A giant leap for web3.”

As the Gazette previously reported, getting Vibes TCG into retail is all part of Moonbirds CEO and Orange Cap Games founder Spencer's broader thesis that intellectual property is one of crypto's most compelling use cases.

“The reason NFTs will win in the long run is because IP development is an actual use case for crypto,” Spencer tweeted on April 27th. “Many other things in the space will fail because they are over financialized and don’t solve a real problem. Defi fails when the risk outweighs the yeild. NFTs can only fail if the IP becomes irrelevant. North Korea can increase the risk of your defi protocol, but it cannot dilute the relevance of your IP. Lesson there.”

The Gazette will continue to follow all things Vibes TCG and will let you know when and where the game pops up next. Stay tuned for updates!
