Early Bored Ape Yacht Club vibes are back around the swamp after OpenSea announced that it is now the exclusive marketplace partner for all things Yuga Labs, is sponsoring ApeFest Las Vegas, and is teaming up with the company and Other Games to host an event in Sin City later this month!

 

“Apes on deck. The Yacht Club is sailing home” Opensea tweeted.  “In the early days, OpenSea and Yuga Labs helped define what digital ownership could mean for communities and collectors. Today, that shared vision brings us back together as the exclusive marketplace partner for BAYC, Otherside, and Yuga's other collections.”

 

 

 

With this new partnership, Yuga Labs will now “exclusively link to and support OpenSea,” according to the platform’s Chief Marketing Officer and BAYC member, Adam Hollander.

 

“The club has been a genuinely important part of my web3 journey,” he tweeted. “I still remember buying #3987 back in 2021 and used him for years as my digital identity. absolutely thrilled to welcome apes back home to Opensea.”

 

Following the announcement, Yuga Labs CEO Garga took to the timeline to thank OpenSea for its renewed 2021 like focus on creators and builders that made Web3 what it is today.

 

“OpenSea wasn't the first or only NFT marketplace, but it was the one that had the foresight to provide royalties for creators, resulting in network effects that grew this space 1000x and attracting creators who'd grown sick of labels, studios, and web2 platforms,” he tweeted announcement. “That foresight enabled us to launch Bored Ape Yacht Club: a club and a lifestyle brand that started as a crazy idea between some friends, and has grown to partner with the likes of BMW and BAPE, host a festival around the globe, and launch a digital world. Among a ton of other dope shit. While today royalties are supported only for ERC-721C collections, we've been heartened by OpenSea 2.0's drive to be more creator- and community-aligned. As part of this partnership, OpenSea will be making waves at this year’s ApeFest, sponsoring the main event at Area 15 on Friday, followed by co-hosting an Otherside gaming experience on Saturday!

 

“We’re thrilled to be coming on board as a presenting sponsor of ApeFest this year,” Opensea tweeted. “Plus a special Otherside experience for attendees at HyperX, Las Vegas’ multi-level e-sports arena. There’ll be prizes. A new chapter will be written.”

 

Following OpenSea’s announcement, Yuga Labs shared more details from its Otherside account, inviting Apes, Voyagers, and others to “Otherside IRL.”

 

 

“Otherside goes IRL at ApeFest Las Vegas,” Yuga Labs wrote. “​Step into the HyperX Esports Arena for a Saturday afternoon of live gameplay and community energy. ​Compete across Bathroom Blitz, Outbreak, and Othergames XIV for ApeCoin bounties, badges, and exclusive prizes.​Come to play or come to watch. Gaming stations are limited, so gameplay will be on a first-come, first-serve basis across multiple rounds.
