"ONE MORE DAY": Nexus, The Koda Home World Of Otherside, Wakes Up Tomorrow

It’s Nexus eve in the Yugaverse as everyone waits to ape into the ancestral home of the Kodas, which has been described as the “living center of Otherside.”
Less than three weeks after Yuga Labs’ Michael Figge announced that the Nexus would be opening on November 12th, “the Nexus is tomorrow.”
“For years you’ve seen tests,” he said during his keynote speech at ApeFest. “A cinematic here, a test there. Otherside’s been in pre-release since July. A preview of a living world with scales, story, and real utility. Its one of the most ambitious project’s ever attempted in this space and its shaping up. In fact, the Koda Nexus, which is the living center of Otherside, is going to be going live on November 12th.”
Tonight, the Yuga Labs and ApeCoin teams are keeping new information about the Nexus under wraps. However, ApeCoin’s Head of DeFi, 0xSimpleFarmer, did hint that the launch will fun during GratefulApe’s Space earlier today.
“In terms of Nexus, I’m not allowed to give to much away,” he said. “what I know is that you can consider it to be a deeply interactive experience, there will be a lot to do and a lot of interesting things. It is the city of the Kodas. I think it should be super fun. But I cant give you any alpha on the Nexus, I’m sorry.”
While the team is holding its cards close to the chest, Apes, Kodas, Voyagers, and more have been getting glimpses of the world since September 2022, when Yuga Labs released its Before Curtis Otherside trailer, feautirng the Nexus.
“Think of Nexus as the ancestral home of the Kodas, with an enormous Koda temple at its center,” Yuga Labs CEO Garga wrote in January 2025. “It’s the central hub for all Otherside, connecting realms and biomess through a vast network of portals. in its prime, Nexus was illuminated by Soma, which is the creation energy you saw Blue bottling up in the Otherside B.C. trailer but chaos, the other energy we see in the trailer and throughout Otherside, has really fucked the place up these days.... it is a Chaos environment but a major city similar to Meetropolis. it's near the site of the temple we see in the second Otherside trailer."
Over the years, we’ve learned that the Koda homeland is built atop a Chaos Otherdeed, features fragments from every Otherside environment, contains portals that connect to different realms, includes Koda only areas similar to how the Swamp has the Apes only Bored Ape Yacht Club, and will play a major role in onboarding first time metaverse users.
More recently, Garga shared a video of a 3D-modeled HV-MTL exploring the Nexus, and it looks insane.
