Opensea’s Chief Financial Officer rang in the New Year by purchasing his first Bored Ape.
Opensea’s CFO, Brian Roberts, aped into the BAYC purchasing Bored Ape #4152.
“So excited to join the @BoredApeYC community, Roberts tweeted. “What a way to start 2022. Ready for a really BIG year. #BAYC#NFT.”
Roberts’ ape, Bored Ape #4152, is a seven-trait gray fur ape with a sea captains’ hat, a striped tee and crazy eyes. Roberts purchased Bored Ape #4152 for 78 Eth or roughly $288,000 USD.
After Roberts’ purchase, bored apes were quick to welcome him into the club.
“Great person to have in our corner, BAYC member Carson tweeted. “Let’s help welcome him to the yacht club!”
Opensea hired Roberts’ on December 6th to help the company grow in 2022 and beyond.
“We’ve had to grow up quickly as a company, and as an industry, Opensea’s Devin Finzer wrote in a blog post. “As we grow, we’re bringing in experienced leaders who have seen greatness at scale and have successfully risen to meet the types of challenges and opportunities that are ahead. Brian is this kind of leader.”
Prior to joining the Opensea team, Roberts was notably Lyft’s first CFO.
