The tale of Taffy the Goblin has begun to unfold on the timeline, and let’s just say it’s full of pickaxes and pickles!

After being inspired by the GobsOnApe mint earlier this year, Jame Halls’ lore, and of course the Mines, GobsOnApe holder MindMakesMatter, AKA M3, took to the timeline earlier this week to tell a tale of his own about a bubblegum-pink Gob named Taffy.

“It all started with Taffy. A broad, pink-skinned Candy Gob,” M3 on his new account TopGobs on Wednesday. “Bigger than most — strong enough to swing a PickHammer in one hand and a Blue Steel in the other. The others called him Hard Candy. But beneath that outer shell… was something softer. He had a way with the other miners. A steady presence, sharp eye and a little kindness. So of course, over time, the name changed. They started calling him Taffy. Before the pints. Before the rooms. Before any roots took hold. Just another Gob with a pick and no plan but the next shift. Forged in the mine. Made in the brine.”
Since then, M3 has added several posts to Taffy’s tale, complete with ye olde photos of the muscular Gob and his story from the mines.
“The mine was closed — but there was talk of one more dig,” M3 wrote on Saturday. “One final shot to prove there was something left. In the mine — and in themselves. While the others were determined to extract the final ore, a new idea had sprouted for Taffy. At sunrise, the others brought tools. Taffy brought something else.”
Then, on Sunday, we learned that something was a pickle and every Gob wanted a taste.
"Pickles... He brought. Pickles,” M3 wrote. “ The salt. The acid. The crunch. It hit like medicine. Gold feeds the greed. Brine feeds the body. The mine seemed to sprout new veins that day. Ore came up like never before. And business… exploded.”
After this post, M3 and Taffy worked to get every Gob a pickle, and pickle-eating Gobs quickly took over the timeline!
"For those who lived thru the mining experience that @notapunkscult put together, the story should sound familiar,” M3 told the Gazette. “Taffy is really on to something with his pickle cart. If you want a pickle for your @GobsOnApe or @mintotaurs just tweet @TopGobs
and put your # or paste your image.”
At this time, we do not know what’s next for Taffy, but we do know that M3 and Not A Punks Cult founders TheRuggerDev and Uncle Mac will be giving away a Mintotaur on Spaces this Wednesday and it ties into the tale M3 is spinning.
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow M3 and Taffy and will let you know what’s next for this Gob. Stay tuned for updates!
