'RETURN TO MONKE': As Global Markets Bleed, This Bored Ape Yacht Club Member Bought A blue Beam Primate For $97K USD

As global markets experience one of the worst sell-offs in recent years, this Bored Ape Yacht Club member heeded Yuga Labs Co-Founder Gordon Goner's call to ‘return to monke’ and aped into a grail blue beam primate!

Mutant Monday was insane as the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell over one thousand points, Bitcoin dipped down to $50,000, and global indices across the board got absolutely wrecked.

But amidst the mayhem and chaos, Yuga Labs Co-Founder Gordon Goner called on Web3 to return to monke, inspiring BAYC member E_Rjabec to purchase Bored Ape #6034, a six-trait brown fur primate with a tweed suit and blue beam eyes, for 40 ETH or $97,600 USD.

“return to monke,” E_Rjabec  told the Gazette. “This is already my 10th ape. All time want BB ape … And now it’s come.”

After his purchase, Rjabec tweeted at Goner to let him know that he inspired today’s purchase and to ask for a follow back!

“Okay NEW dream ape come home @BoredApeYC, he tweeted. “Maybe now @GordonGoner follow me back?”

 

Today’s blue beam purchase is not the first time that E_Rjabec   has made waves around the swamp.
