REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO BORED: BAYC Member Wuestenigel Brings Home The Mega Koda He Once Sold For A Small Fortune!

Talk about a homecoming! Four years after minting one of Otherside's  Mega Kodas, longtime Bored Ape Yacht Club member Wuestenigel has been reunited with the primordial being he once sold for a small fortune.

On Thursday, Wuestenigel made an over the counter deal with prolific Otherside collector and trader Nicki V through Yuga Labs' new Grails Swaps platform, bringing Mega Koda #9920 back home to him for 18 ETH, or $34,000 USD.

 

For Wuestenigel, Thursday night's trade was more than another high end J-Peg acquisition. It was an NFT family reunion!

“Koda 9920 actually landed on my plot back in the day,” Wuestenigal told the Gazette. “The night before, I manifested it — drew a red X and wrote: "Mega Koda, please land here. The next morning there was already a 100 WETH offer on it, and I sold during that phase. In the end, it really helped me get through the brutal bear market.”

 

Ultimately, Wuestenigel sold Mega Koda #9920 for 100 ETH and a Bored Ape, which he later sold for another 100 ETH.

“Yeah, crazy times,” he said.

 

But through every bull and bear market, Wuestenigel never stopped checking in on his old Mega Koda.

“Over the years I casually kept in touch with the owner — and at some point I even built a bidding bot with Claude to bid on Mega Kodas,” he said. “But I never stopped thinking about him.”

 

While Mega Koda #9920 wasn't the only Mega Koda Wuestenigel has owned over the years, it has always been his favorite. And he cant thank  Nicki V enough for making the long awaited reunion possible.

“Thanks to Nicki's help, he's back: brought him home,” he said. “ I did own a Mega Koda for a while in between, but honestly, I prefer the cute, cuddly Kodas over the badass weapon Kodas Now it's up to James Hall to see what he has in store for us.”
