All Gobs are Gobs, but some mean more to some than others. And “by the grace of Gob,” one collector just got his favorite one back.

Earlier this year, ApeChain collector Bziano broke his hand in a dirt biking accident and was forced to sell GobOnApe #1381, a five-trait, light-skin Goblin wearing a gold chain and a mask, to help cover his bills during recovery.

“I was gutted," he told the Gazette. "I loved this gob so much that I got it professionally printed (24in X 36in with Matte finish) I ended up breaking my hand earlier this year due to me dirt biking- I was off work for 2 months and so I had to sell some of my portfolio of gobs to help with me being out.”

As he healed, Bziano kept a close eye on the Gob market, always hoping he’d get a chance to buy back the Gob that got away!

“Everyday I would see my gob on my office wall and it floored me knowing that I didn’t have it,” he said. “I kept my eye out for it for months and I couldn’t find it.”

That changed earlier this week when GobOnApe collector Gobs777 posted Bziano’s old Gob on the timeline.

“Gobs777 made a post with it. I was a deer in headlights,” Bziano told the paper. “I DM him privately and told him how and why he ended up with this gob. I showed him my framed gob and I asked him if he was willing to sell it back to me…. He said yes due to it meaning so much to me.”

On June 24th, Bziano was reunited with GobOnApe #1381, and had a deeper appreciation for the ApeChain ecosystem and the shared values of the Gob community.

“It just shows the type of community GOBS have,” Bziano said. “This community wants to see everyone win. It’s sounds cliche but those on the discord is starting to have family dynamics- we are getting close.  This community is special. GOBS are GOBs.”

After the sale, Gobs777 also reflected on the trade and the emotional weight NFTs can carry and the importance of identity.

“This kind of trading spirit means a lot,” he tweeted. “ Everyone faces tough times in life, and sometimes that means parting with NFTs they truly cherish — even their own PFP. What we set as our PFP often reflects what we value the most. If one day, things turn around and that NFT finds its way back to us — that’s a beautiful moment.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Bziano and Gobs777 and will let you know what they do next around Grimhold. Stay tuned for updates!
