RIDING WITH RIDA!: Bored Ape Yacht Club Member Rida Won The BAYC's Bored Ape Bimmer Club Art Contest And Will Now Design A Car With BMW!

Bored Ape Yacht Club member Rida is in the driver’s seat this evening after Yuga Labs announced that he won the community’s Bored Ape Bimmer Club Art Contest and will be designing his own ApeCar in collaboration with luxury automaker BMW!

After reviewing five different Ape Mobile designs from community artists, Apes took to the polls to vote for their favorite B(ored)MW design. In the end, the club chose to ride with Rida, who will now design an ApeCar with BMW to be revealed at ApeFest 2024.

“BAYC x BMW are thrilled to announce @RidazLp2 design for the 1:1 ApeCar was selected by the community. Thank you to the community artists  @Pausrr, @popilart , @bejado, and @magdylanfor their creativity and designs. You’re all legends of the club. Stay tuned for the surprise at ApeFest Lisbon.”

Now, Rida will work with Yuga Labs and BMW to re-imagine the exterior of a unique 2025 model that will be unveiled at ApeFest Lisbon.

“What an absolute honour to be voted for by the best community in the world,” Rida tweeted after the announcement. “To work with @BoredApeYC and @BMW is absolutely insane.. Will write something coherent once I am able to make sense of it all.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Rida’s vision for this ApeCar is to combine simplicity, luxury, and Bored Ape elements to capture both the club’s vibe and BMW’s elegance.

“The design for the ApeCar emphasizes simplicity and luxury, incorporating gold accents and a pattern of ape silhouette mosaics to deliver a message of community,” he wrote. “Inspired by the ApeCar project, we blended refined aesthetics with elements that invite connection and unity. The use of gold, clean lines, and rich textures, along with the symbolic ape mosaic pattern, aligns with themes of harmony and togetherness, creating a car that is both a statement piece and a celebration of shared values.”

Take a look at some of Rida’s concept art and visuals for the car below:

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Rida and the Bored Ape Bimmer Club Art Contest and will provide updates as more information on this ApeCar becomes available. Stay tuned!
