On Nexus eve, hundreds of friends from around the Bored Ape Yacht Club and beyond got together for one last family photo to commemorate the first iteration of the always on Otherside!

On Tuesday, Yuga Labs temporarily closed down the Swamp in preparation for the grand opening of the Koda home world, Nexus. But before this new world wakes up, Other Games Co-Host Hype decided to put together one final family photo event, and tons of people aped in to send off this chapter of the Swamp!

“It was great to see so many community members show up,” Hype told the Gazette. “When it opened in late July all I could think of was just running around and hanging with people from the community. Tonight was last minute and spontaneous. With over 130+ community showing up was really cool. This is what this Otherside community has been about. And this is what Other Games has been about. Coming together to participate and support fun and engaging activities.”

For Hype, and many other BAYC and ApeChain community members, the Swamp has been the place where they hung out, celebrated, and created memories that will last a lifetime. From weekly Other Games events to welcoming community after community into the world, including friends from outside the ecosystem like Amazon and Arbitrum, things have been anything but boring, and everyone is pumped to see who comes next once Nexus opens!

We expect to see a ton of current members flood into the Nexus. But I can't wait to see more and more come in the next several weeks and several months. See you all on the otherside.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will be reporting live from the Otherside tomorrow once it opens and will bring you live reports, articles, and more as the world opens up. Stay tuned for updates!
