SOMETHING SPOOKY?: Yuga Labs CEO Garga Teases Otherside Game Dubbed ‘Zombie Tag’ Coming This Summer!

 

From the bathroom to the boneyard, Otherside will be coming alive soon  and a game that’s internally titled “Zombie Tag” will be popping up on the platform later this summer!

Things got a little spooky in the Otherside Discord on Thursday when Yuga Labs CEO Garga announced that the second Otherside Development Kit experience coming to Otherside this summer will be a game that’s internally referred to as “Zombie Tag.”

“The internal placeholder name when we were first coming up with it was "zombie tag" lol,” Garga wrote.

 

At this time, we don’t know much about Zombie Tag, who’s building it, or exactly when it will launch on ApeChain. But we do know it will be the second ODK experience to debut on Otherside this summer.

We also know that we should expect it to go live in either late July or early August based on the timeline Garga gave for the first iteration of the always on Otherside rollout last week.

“Big info dump in June, first ODK experience persistent in late June/early July, next one a couple weeks after, and so forth until we get to full persistence for all the main islands (Nexus being the big one, but also The Swamp, Meetropolis,” Garga said on Discord at the time. “BB first, then other stuff soon after,” he said. “Other games we haven't talked about yet, Poker, Bubbles, etc.”

 

 

As we wait for more info on Zombie Tag, we do know quite a bit about the first ODK experience that Yuga Labs will be rolling out in the coming weeks, a game dubbed Bathroom Blitz.

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Bathroom Blitz is a team based shooter created by BAYC member CryptoVonDoom and his Command Line team, where Apes are shrunken down and duke it out inside the BAYC clubhouse bathroom.

“Batthroom Blitz is crazy little toy soldiers style game,” Garga said on CryptoVonDoom’s FYI Space back in March. “You are the size of a toy soldier and you’re in the BAYC’s bathroom. There is shit everywhere and you got a sniper rifle. You can pick up an AK-47, you can grapple up on the walls. It’s a small team Shooter, 16 by 16. Its fun and kind of an homage to the days of counterstrike, kitchen rats game, and other toy solider mods that have come out for different shooters over the years. Whenever we test it internally or with your team its always a  ton of fun.”
