SPOTLIGHT: From Bubble Spaces To The Persistent State, Grillz Gang Has Been Grinning On Otherside For Years!

As chatter grows about more NFT collections coming to Otherside, these smiling teeth want everyone to know they’ve been shining bright around the swamp for years!

Since the early days of Otherside, before Outbreak, before Bathroom Blitz, and even before the persistent state, Grillz Gang was hanging around the swamp, grinning ear to ear and even popping into the first ever Bubble Spaces in November 2024.

 

“Grillz Gang got started in 2021 and was a VeeFriends pre launch connection,” ImprobableIO’s Directive Creator told the Gazette. “5,555 unique NFTs of shiny Grillz creating partnerships and collaborations with art, technology and special access. Our goal was always to connect different communities together, by being interoperable, forming bonds and helping with building.”

 

Interoperability and openness are at the core of Grillz Gang’s mission. Directive Creator told the Gazette the collection has been instrumental in opening up Otherside to more NFT communities.

Since Yuga Labs launched its always on Otherside in July, the swamp has transformed from a place where only Apes, Meebits, Kodas, and Voyager Robots could roam into a full-blown Ready Player One style world. FoxyFam friends, GeezOnApe, and Mutants have all aped in, with more NFT communities on the way, and the Grillz were key in setting the standards that will guide avatars in Otherside.

“They’ve technically been accessible since yesterday,” Creative Director told the Gazette on September 11th.”Tthough the switch has been flipping on and off, on and off, which sparked some heated debates about what should and shouldn’t be allowed in the Otherside. That back and forth is actually what pushed the avatar documentation forward, and now we’re finally seeing more communities being welcomed in. To me, that’s the real win.”

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs published a five part document on avatar standards earlier this month and invited every artist and creator to transform their 2D JPEGs into 3D models.

 

Now, as Otherside expands and more frens ape in, the Grillz are smiling ear to ear and can’t wait to help make the metaverse a reality.

“I see us continue to break things and bite into new tech, AI tools, MML items (!), custom web worlds and more," Directive Creator said. "Our future looks brighter than ever now that we are finally back in Otherside, ready to forge relationships with other communities and helping them out with their avatars.”
