SPOTLIGHT: This Bored Ape Yacht Club Member Reimagined The BAYC The'Same Same But Different' In His Xtra Bored Collection

After meeting many Apes over the years and connecting with others in the Web3 space, this Bored Ape Yacht Club member is giving back to the swamp by reimagining the club’s original 10,000 primates as the 'same same, but different' in his tribute collection dubbed Xtra Bored.

BAYC member BeePee is the ‘proud owner of too many overpriced but beautiful JPEGs’ and the artist and developer behind Xtra Bored, a collection that pays homage to the original Bored Apes!

 

“I spent countless hours creating my own version of each trait and had to overcome some technical obstacles along the way (f*ck layering),” BeePee wrote on the collection’s website. “This was done so that every BAYC owner and everyone else in the space would have the opportunity to see a different version of the Apes.  Some of the traits closely resemble the original, while others are quite distinct. Nonetheless, all of them have been freshly crafted with a great deal of love. Same same, but different, but still the same!”

 

BeePee told the Gazette that making this collection was a labor of love and that he hopes it will help him connect with even more primates going forward!

 

“Honk Kong and New York were both crazy,” he said. “Vibes were amazing and venues were just insane. I connected with some apes in both of them but felt like I missed to many of them. Should have pushed myself out of the comfort zone and connected with a lot more people. This project is the first step toward that goal, just me being proactive and getting myself out there. Hopefully next ApeFest I’ll connect with a lot more apes irl."
