SQUID GAMES SWAMP STYLE: BAYC Members Honey B, TimmyGSPT, MoreThanHype, And Makaveli Gave Away 5K $Ape In Prizes At The Second Ever Other Games!

From onchain physical feats to mind games and more. This weekend’s second ever Otherside version of Squid Games was one for the ages and it may become a weekly event going forward!

 

On Sunday, over 100 community members aped into the Otherside to participate in an online version of the popular Netflix show Squid Game, hosted by Bored Ape Yacht Club members Honey B, TimmyGSPT, MoreThanHype, and Makaveli, with 5,000 $Ape worth of prizes on the line!

 

 

“It was a ton of fun,” Honey B told the Gazette. “Just the amount of support from the community participating & sponsors who came in to keep topping the prize pool was sick to see. Getting to see a bubble with 100+ people, the chat flying and everyone running around was peak chaos & joy.”

 

The Other Games kicked off with a Glyder race, where many didn’t survive,  and was won by Web3 gamer ClyFoul. From there, the 100 participants played Red Light, Green Light and raced to the TreeTops.

 

But Honey B’s favorite moment came during the “Redemption Challenge,” which had players form groups of 10, vote each other out, and then discover that the “eliminated” were actually the finalists.

"I wanted to do a social game with betrayal, sacrifice, and a redemption arc,I love drama and I’m a content farmer,” he said. “Having people eliminate people from their group and then telling them that the eliminated are actually the finalist probably peak moment for me haha the reactions were priceless.”

 

Unlike the real Squid Game, where there’s only one winner, the Other Games handed out 69 ApeChain NFTs worth a total of 5,000 $Ape to multiple participants and everyone left with their lives and had a great time. Not bad for a Sunday night!

 

 

“Across the board everyone just had a lot of fun,” Honey B said.  “We’ve gotten a lot of flowers. We’ve seen a lot of content coming out from the participants and even the people who didn’t win saying they had a blast regardless — and that was our goal.”

Looking ahead, Honey B told the Gazette that he, TimmyGSPT, MoreThanHype, and Makaveli plan to keep hosting these Other Games and hope more and more community members ape in next time.

 

"I do think the plan is weekly," he teased. "We’re currently still in talks about it but expect bigger and better.”
