Collectors collect, Apes ape, and Bored Ape Yacht Club members TigerIsFine and Ryan Smith are bringing it all together with an online and IRL scavenger hunt around Charleston for ApeFest!
From midnight meetups in Waffle House parking lots to partying at Beeple Studios and everything in between, things are anything but boring in the Palmetto State this weekend as the best club on the internet takes over the Holy City!
And while IRL is the alpha, these two primates are connecting it all back to the club's digital roots with an all new phygital experience dubbed ApeQuest!
In total, there are 25 quests for BAYC members to complete this weekend, ranging from simple tasks like inviting their frens to sign up and play to checking in at Ape activations scattered across the city!
But this isn't Tiger and Smith's first rodeo! The pair launched the first iteration of their phygital scavenger hunt in Seoul, South Korea, during Korea Blockchain Week earlier this month. Now, they're bringing the experience stateside for ApeFest, gathering more feedback, and laying the groundwork for something bigger called ApePay.
We ran our first version in Seoul during Korea Blockchain Week, and that was really phase 0 for us, Tiger said. “The response was great and it gave us the foundation to iterate. Charleston is still very much in early access phase. We’re spreading it across a whole weekend, learning a ton, and using it to help us transition and scale into ApePay. There’s more on that coming soon, once we get through the ApeFest craziness. But at the end of the day, it’s a way for Apes to have fun together and get rewarded for showing up. “
Take a look at the prizes up for grabs below:
