The BAYC's Creative Director Jeff Nicholas Stepped Down From His Role Yesterday To Work At Meta's Reality Labs. Find Out More:

It was a somber day around the swamp on Friday after Yuga Labs’ Bored Ape Yacht Club Creative Director, Jeff Nicholas, announced that he’s stepping down from his post to take a new job at Meta’s Reality Labs.

After 13 months of working on everything from the IRL Clubhouse to BAYC LLC, and hosting the monthly Bored Meetings, Nicholas shared that yesterday was his last day at Yuga Labs as he prepares to join Meta’s Reality Labs.

 

“Some bittersweet news today… I’m beyond excited to announce that I am joining the team at Meta Reality Labs as "Executive Mixed Reality Producer for Entertainment Experiences" in September,” Nicholas tweeted on Friday. “But bittersweet because, well, that means today is my last day with the incredible team at @BoredApeYC& @YugaLabs. I can’t thank @GordonGoner, CryptoGarga, & @mfigge enough for the opportunity to come behind the curtain and roll up my sleeves for BAYC. Working with the entire Yuga Labs team, some of the most talented people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, has been an honor and a privilege — and one of the highlights of my career, both personally and professionally.”

 

 

While Nicholas will no longer be working at Yuga Labs, he assured his friends around the swamp that he’s never leaving the BAYC.

 

“As for me personally, I’m not going anywhere,” he wrote. “I minted Apes, I’m an Ape till I die, and I’m looking forward to continuing to be part of the community as this club, brand and legacy unfold in the days, months and years to come.”

 

After Nicholas announced his new job, Apes from around the swamp took to the comments to wish him well.
