THE GLASS IS ABOUT TO BREAK: Black Mirror’s Token Launches Tomorrow! Find Out More About This "Franchise Token" That's Backed By The Popular Show!

The glass between Web3 and a Netflix IP is about to shatter as Black Mirror gets ready to launch the world’s first ever “franchise token,” backed by a popular show and powering its own world of products, experiences, rewards, and dystopian entertainment.

On Monday, the Black Mirror universe of surveillance, hyperfinancialization, and technological nightmares will officially arrive in Web3 with the launch of its token in partnership with major players like Animoca Brands, Solana, and Avax.

"Black Mirror is officially coming onchain with $MIRROR The first-of-its-kind franchise token launched in full partnership with the official IP of a publicly traded company,” the project tweeted. “$MIRROR is an IP-backed utility token that powers: → Official Products and Experiences → An RWA Ecosystem Flywheel → Reputation-Based Airdrops & Rewards → A New Framework for Onchain Entertainment."

 

 

Tomorrow, $Mirror kicks off with its Token Generation Event (TGE) on Base at 11 A.M. EST. In total, the project will consist of one billion tokens. Check out $MIRROR’s tokenomics and emission schedule below:

 

 

With the $Mirror token, holders can earn influence across chains and participate in a growing Black Mirror ecosystem featuring animated shows, toys, NFTs, and exclusive events.

Looking ahead, the Black Mirror team is bullish on the project’s future. They told the Gazette that much is planned to leverage the IP in Web3.

“Tokens are gonna do what tokens are gonna do at TGE,” BAYC Member and $Mirror Council Member AllCity told the Gazette. “But what makes this drop so unique is how much flexibility Netflix is allowing with the Black Mirror IP and the post-TGE activations we've got in store designed to leverage it. We're also not a PFP collection, so founders aren't viewing us as their competitors, we're their partners, able to provide utility for project communities across the board."

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, BAYC members were invited to ape into an airdrop opportunity over the weekend thanks to Apes+ and ApeVentures. Community members who opted in before the deadline can expect to receive a chunk of their tokens tomorrow, according to ApeVentures’ DarkKnightHimslf.
