The Land of the Morning Calm is about to get a whole lot cuter as Pudgy Penguins prepares to waddle into Korea with one of Asia’s biggest character brands!

On Wednesday, Pudgy Penguins gave the huddle a first look at all new merch from its upcoming LINE FRIENDS collaboration, and it’s as cute as it is collectible.

“Time to takeover Korean retail stores,” Pudgy Penguins posted.

The collab includes pens, plushies, figurines, and a Keyring Blind Bag featuring six different Pax and Pollys!

 

As the Gazette previously reported, LINE FRIENDS isn’t just any brand in Asia. After launching as a collection of stickers on the popular LINE Messenger app in 2011, its instantly recognizable characters have grown far beyond the screen, expanding across the region and collaborating with major names like BTS, Starbucks, Nike, and more over the years.

 

“If you’re outside Asia, you might not realize how big a deal LINE FRIENDS is,” Pudgy Penguins Business Development Lead Hedge tweeted. “18 countries. 70M+ global social reach. $4.2B in sales. Stores in Seoul, Tokyo and Shanghai. ASIA WILL HUDDLE.”

 

Getting Pudgy Penguins waddling across Asia is an important step forward for the project as it looks to proliferate the brand, reach new audiences, and grow the huddle into a global phenomenon.
