WAFFLES AT MIDNIGHT: BAYC Member Hype Is Turning A Late Night Bite Into An ApeFest Side Event At The Waffle House By The Charleston Airport And You Are Invited!

From Fort Sumter, where the first shots of the American Civil War were fired in 1861, to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s famous and fabulous pink house, Charleston, South Carolina, is filled with history and culture old and new. But when this Bored Ape Yacht Club member heads to the Palmetto State for ApeFest next month, there’s only one landmark he’s making a point to visit: the Waffle House by the airport. And he’s hoping every Ape can join him!

For years, Bored Ape Yacht Club member Hype has heard stories about Waffle House, the 24/7 restaurant chain that never ever closes, from fellow club members and even Yuga Labs’ own James Hall. But despite all the hype, he’s never actually been.

But that’s going to change during ApeFest 2026.

“I’ve been hearing about for years,” Hype told the Gazette. “My fiancé Rebecca first told me about it years ago… A lot of apes are heading into Charleston for ApeFest as early as Thursday. A ton landing late Thursday night and I was like we all need to hit up the Waffle House… So I was like fuck it. Let’s take over Waffle House at Midnight.”

So Hype started inviting his frens from around the swamp to grab a bite, and before long, the idea grew into a full blown ApeFest side event with more than 50 people already planning to pull up!

“I called corporate today and let them know that a shitload of people are coming into town in Charleston,” Hype said on yesterday’s I Got Time Today Space. “We are going to be taking over the Waffle House by the airport, so tap in.”

Apes who are coming to ApeFest next month and are interested in grabbing some Waffle House at midnight with the best club on the internet can reach out to Hype on X at @MorethanHype for more information!

The Gazette will continue to follow all things ApeFest and will bring you a full report from Waffle House next month. Stay tuned for updates!
