WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!: PunksOTC Purchases an Ape Type CryptoPunk From Original Claimer BeautyAndPunk for $2.6 Million USD!

What a beautiful day!

 

Eight years ago, Web3 legend BeautyAndPunk was claiming 39 CryptoPunks for free and today she sold one of the only primates in the entire collection for a life changing amount! Only in Web3.

Tuesday was anything but boring in the crypto space after PunksOTC purchased CryptoPunk #1021 from BeautyAndPunk for 720 ETH, or about $2.6 million USD.

 

CryptoPunk #1021 is a two-attribute Ape-type Punk with a cap and an eye patch. Based on these traits, it ranks as the 52nd rarest Punk in the entire collection.

Following his top tier pickup, PunksOTC set the Punk as his PFP and played all the Web3 copy-pasta hits including “Does ape follow ape still work?” popularized by Bored Ape Yacht Club members in the summer of 2021, and the classic Yieldasaurus quote about rocking a PFP that’s under a certain floor price.

 

 

“If you are rocking a PFP under 2.5m plz don't @ me or share your opinion on my wall. I don't care what you have to say. Reality is you need to Work harder, move out of your moms basement, stack eth/sol, buy a few real PFP then share your opinion.”

 

 

 

 

Tonight, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to BeautyAndPunk to congratulate her on the sale and ask what’s next for her, but she did not immediately reply.

While we do not know what she has planned with all that Ethereum, we do know she still has one of the best CryptoPunk collections in the world comprised of 24 Punks, including two more Apes and a Zombie. Take a look at her collection below:
