WHAT’S IN THE BOX?: Franalations Unboxed the BAYC X BAPE Season Two Collection!

The swamp was hyped on Friday after the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s resident hyperbeat, Franalations, posted his highly anticipated BAYC X BAPE unboxing video, giving the community a closer look at this insane collection.

The BAYC’s second collaboration with A Bathing Ape is dropping exclusively for BAYC members next Saturday, followed by an in-store launch later this month.

As Apes, streetwear enthusiasts, and BAPEheads get ready to break the bank for this collab, Franalations gave everyone a first look at some of the collection’s biggest pieces, including the numbered-to-1000 sneakers and a reimagined shark hoodie featuring the BAYC logo.

“Full 8 minute Unboxing of the Unreleased Early @BAPEOFFICIALx @BoredApeYC 2nd collection,” Franalations tweeted along with his video. “Shout out @illaDaProducer.”

 

 

In the video, Franalations first unboxed a new shark hoodie, pointing out key details like the Frankenstein inner tag and explaining the significance of its inclusion, as these shark hoodies were designed to be costumes.

The second item Fran unboxed was a BAYC X BAPE camo button-down shirt, reminiscent of the one Robin Williams made famous in the late '90s or early 2000s. “They have basically redone and reimagined that shirt as the Bored Ape Yacht Club skull camo throughout,” Fran said. “These pieces are insane for any BAPE collector because it's going through the archive and legacy of BAPE.”

 

 

The third item Fran took a first look at was the Shark shoes. In the video, Fran explained that these were a new silhouette from BAPE, featuring tons of details throughout. In a previous post, Fran also revealed that these shoes were numbered to 1,000. “Awesome sneakers, can’t wait to rock these,” he said.

 

The fourth and final piece Fran unboxed were the BAYC X BAPE house slippers. “Woooow,” Fran said. “BAPE and Bored Ape house slippers. These things are crazy.”

Fran ended the video by thanking BAPE and Yuga Labs for sending him these items and teased that the collection features even more awesome pieces.
