On Sunday, the home of NFTs looked more like a trap house after Bored Ape Yacht Club member Peter Parker launched $HOES, a memecoin inspired by the popular Honorary Onchain Essential Services community that fellow BAYC member TigerIsFine organized a few months back.
“I’ve been asking the ApeChainHOES to make a coin for a week and no one would so I said fuck it and did it myself,” Parker told the paper. “Wasn’t expecting this at all LOL but it’s nice to see volume back on Ape Express and I’m glad it’s cause of $HOES. I mean I’m not surprised not gonna lie, we apes are hoes. It just fits us.”
And we Apes are indeed $HOES. In just a few hours, $HOES bonded, got an X account, showed up on DexScreener, and even had community led Spaces going!
As $HOES got its legs, TigerIsFine told the Gazette she’s loved watching everyone hoe it up around the swamp from launching this coin to making t-shirts!
“it's just fun to watch people just do things,” she said. “For instance, Seannana from Otherpage just went ahead and created the logo. and then ApeWhale said fck it, we'll make shirts. didn’t have to ask for anything, people just went with it for the lols.”
The lols being back are a great sign for memecoins on ApeChain and could lead to even more experimentation, according to Ape Express Founder and BAYC member Koko.
