Whether you’re shooting the shit with your friends at the poker table or blasting them in a round of Bathroom Blitz, experience matters on Otherside, and players will soon be racking up points as part of a newly revealed XP system!
Things were anything but boring in the Yugaverse on Wednesday as Yuga Labs CEO Garga jumped into the Otherside Discord for another chat with Voyagers.

During the conversation, Garga was asked whether Yuga Labs had any plans to incorporate a reward system into Otherside, similar to Sandbox, that would incentivize players to ape into the metaverse.
“Yeah,” he said. “I think rewards need to be a big part of any crypto game. the summer release is more like an alpha, so there wouldn't be any immediate hard currency, but there is an XP system for people to start progression that can get factored in later.”

At this time, there’s no additional information on how the XP system will work or what it will look like in Otherside. What we do know is that the metaverse will feature an overarching storyline and a variety of things to do from Bubble hangout spaces and poker games to Bathroom Blitz and other unannounced experiences created by Yuga Labs and their ODK partners across the world’s three main worlds: the BAYC’s swamp, the Meebits capital city of Meetropolis, and the ancestral homeworld of the Kodas known as Nexus.
We also know that the concept of tracking and recognizing user experiences has always been part of Yuga Labs’ plan for Otherside.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Voyagers who participated in events like the First Trip and Koda Origins had those moments etched into their NFTs’ metadata.

These experiences are all part of what Yuga Labs calls “The Voyagers Journey.”
