Drawings and dreams became reality in Las Vegas last week after Pudgy Penguins took over the Las Vegas Sphere, with the brand’s lead artist reminding everyone that in Web3, you can really just do things.

Over the weekend, Pudgy Penguins artist Afiq took to the timeline to share a behind-the-scenes look at the concept art that eventually became the brand’s minute-long Sphere ad this Christmas.

“You can actually draw things into existence,” he tweeted, alongside four images of Pudgy mascot Pax making faces.

After the post, builders from across Web3 gave Afiq his flowers, including Sloooths founder Pequelord, who congratulated him on the massive accomplishment.

“Wonderful fam! Congrats on this as a team and as an artist,” he said. “I know how special it is to see your work in action! I love what you do and what you did there fam! Is great to finally see a project doing the right things… so refreshing…”

Whether you own a Pudgy or not, seeing the brand take over the Sphere in the middle of an NFT bear market is a powerful reminder of what’s possible in this space. Pudgy Penguins launched in the summer of 2021 for 0.03 ETH each. After the community voted out its founder and Luca Netz acquired the brand in early 2022.

Since then, Pudgy Penguins has grown into one of the top NFT brands in the space, launching its $PENGU memecoin and expanding far beyond crypto through GIFs, plushies, trading cards, and regulatory advocacy for Web3 in Washington!

As Afiq put it, you can actually draw things into existence!
