A NEW HIT GAME: ApeChain’s Chumps Collection Releases ‘Whacky Chump’ And Everyone’s Invited To Ape In!

ApeChain may just have its first hit game after the Chumps released something smashing over the weekend.

You’ve heard of whack a mole, but what about Whacky Chump? On Saturday, one of ApeChain’s major collections released a free to play game that’s open to everyone and no wallet connection is needed to ape in!

Whacky Chump’s gameplay is as simple as it is addictive. Players have 30 seconds to whack as many Chumps as possible to rack up points all while dodging bombs, butts, and other point losing obstacles!

 

 

After the launch, Chumps artist and developer Def_Inkognito told the Gazette that building this game had always been part of the plan and that he’s always aimed to “underpromise, overdeliver, and bring joy and fun in the process” to his holders and the $Ape ecosysterm!

 

“The game was just something that I’d always imagined since very early on in the Chumps journey,” he said. “I’d seen a whack-a-mole arcade game irl and thought how it would fit with the Chumps, being the silly Chumps that they are. have very little funds for the project as it was a virtually free mint, so have to work clever. I started to play with AI and my limited coding knowledge to create the game using HTML, CSS and Java. The graphics were all hand drawn by myself and then just started to play around.”

 

Everyone in the $Ape ecosystem and beyond will want to get whacking this week, as the project is awarding the top player on the leaderboard next Saturday with a Chumps NFT and some $KINGZ tokens from Jungle Kingz!

Looking ahead, Def told the Gazette that he hopes to release even more Chumps inspired games and continue growing the project.

”The Chumps was launched back in December ‘24 as an art project. There was no road map and no promise,” he said. “To date we have the website, the game, phone wallpapers and the chance for Chumps to get the full body of their Chumps in competitions in the Discord. Merch is planned for the future along with other things, depending how successful things go.”
