APECHAIN UPDATE: The ApeCoin DAO Is Holding An ApeChain RFP. Here's What You Need To Know:

Following community feedback, the ApeCoin DAO’s administrator formally announced that the DAO is hosting a Request For Proposal process between now and mid-February to find someone to build an ApeChain for the ApeCoin DAO!

After two months of conversations on the necessity for an ApeChain in the $Ape ecosystem and AIPs from Polygon Labs, Optimism, Arbitrum, and ZkSync to build it, the ApeCoin DAO’s Administrator, WebSlinger, announced that it is holding an RFP and that everyone who wants to build ApeChain for the DAO can ape in!

“The ApeCoin community seeks a proponent to build ApeChain, a dedicated ApeCoin blockchain that scales $APE and supports the growth of the ApeCoin ecosystem,” WebSlinger wrote. “Over community discussions in recent weeks and months, it has become clear that the ApeCoin community would like a Request for Proposals (RFP) process for ApeChain. In order to assist with this process, the APE Foundation is announcing this RFP to select a proponent to build ApeChain.”

During this process, companies, foundations, and individuals will be invited to propose their ApeChain ideas to the DAO between now and January 11th.

After that, there will be 20-day community feedback period from January 11 to January 31st where ApeCoin DAO contributors will be able to make suggestions to the authors.

Then there will be either one or two rounds of voting on who will build the ApeCoin DAO’s ApeChain, depending on how many ApeChain AIPs are submitted. The first vote is scheduled to take place from February 1st to February 7th, according to the RFP.

“The reason the Ape Foundation is doing this RFP is because of overwhelming community demands for a structured process with consolidated voting,” Special Council Member Waabam told the Gazette. “This RFP creates a structured process with consolidated voting and a clear timeline.”

$Apes who are interested in taking a closer look at the RFP or submitting their ApeChain ideas can check out WebSlinger’s post here: https://forum.apecoin.com/t/request-for-proposals-apechain/21139

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow this RFP process and will let you know who applies and what their pitches to the DAO are. Stay tuned for updates!
