ApeCoin DAO Special Council Member CaptainTrippy Announced That He Will Not Seek Reelection This Summer
The ApeCoin DAO’s summer election season is right around the corner and current Special Council member CaptainTrippy announced that he will not be seeking reelection this morning.
The nomination period for the ApeCoin DAO’s 2024 summer election season is about to begin on May 1st with 2 Special Council Members seats, 2 Governance Working Group Stewards seats, 1 Marketing & Communications WG Steward seat, 1 Metaverse WG Steward seat, and 2 Web 3 Development WG Stewards seats up for grabs!
As community members mull over whether or not to run for $Ape office, Special Council Member, CaptainTrippy, who’s seat is up for grabs this summer, announced that he will not be seeking reelection this morning.
“I am thankful for the time I’ve had in this role and while I won’t be running for SC in this upcoming election, I will still be around and back in the capacity of community member, along side you, and still working to make this web3 ecosystem a place for the next generation of dreamers, builders and doers,” he wrote.
In this announcement, Capetain Trippy also reflected on his time in $Ape Office and wrote about the state of the DAO, sharing his thoughts on $Ape’s future, covering everything from Working Groups to Apechain
“I admit that early on I was a skeptic of the working groups, even though I voted for them to pass. Over time, I have seen groups go from seemingly struggle to get some momentum, to surprising me on a regular basis with what they are both working on and accomplishing. Regarding the state of the DAO, I believe we are currently in the strongest place we have ever been and have a very solid foundation both structurally and creatively to work off of. That is thanks to a lot of work behind the scenes by people in the past and present, the time and work of which may never be fully appreciated. There are numerous big initiatives voted on and passed by the AIP process that lay the foundation for “what’s next”. ApeChain and F1 come to mind as 2 that are a very big deal for us as an ecosystem to build off of. In short, @apecoin DAO is really starting to hit her stride. I am truly excited for the future and thankful to play a small part in it. Although it hasn't been easy, I do think where we are now, the community should take pride in what has been accomplished, and I think will be pleasantly surprised over the coming months and years for what is still to come, both known and unknown. I truly believe over the arc of time, as DAOs come and go, ours will be around and a case study of success.”
