The first quarter of 2025 was anything but boring for the Banana Bill team, as they allocated 14.6 million $Ape to 36 different projects and dApps building on the token.
Late last night, Ape Foundation CEO Cameron Kates released the ApeCoin DAO-funded 100 million $Ape Banana Bill’s Q1 Transparency Report.
“Banana Bill report is live. https://files.apecoin.com/BB-Transparency-Report-Q1-2025.pdf…, he tweeted. “Proud of the team for being disciplined in tough markets, focusing on creator tools and user experience, and keeping an eye on the long term prize. Definitely a challenging quarter but more excited than ever for the future”
In the 25-page document, Kates and the Banana Bill team revealed that they spent or allocated 14.6 million $Ape (roughly $9.34 million USD at today’s price) to 36 different projects across eight main categories: 1. Defi 2. Central Exchanges 3. Gaming/ Skills based wagering 4. Artificial Intelligence 5. User Incentives/ Community 6. NFTS and NFT Infrastructure 7. Infrastructure and 8. Media.
Take a look at the projects that received funding or had funding allocated in each category below:
DEFI: Zharta, LogX, Token Racer, Able Labs, Ithaca Protocol, Merkl
Central Exchanges: Banxa, WhiteBit, GateIO, and CoinStore

With these 36 additional projects funded or allocated between January 1 and April 30, the Banana Bill has now spent a total of 31.2 million $Ape from its 100 million $Ape budget on supporting 86 different projects, apps, and activations.
“The Banana Bill has played a pivotal role in catalyzing the growth of ApeChain by strategically funding integrations that create long-term value, drive user adoption, and reinforce ApeChain’s identity,” the team wrote. “The Banana Bill team has prioritized integrations that are not only technically valuable but empower creatives, encourage experimentation, and deepen ties between teams and applications on ApeChain. Whether through NFT-focused activations like ApeChain Spotlight, dynamic rewards systems powered by Merkl, or cutting-edge content distribution via Now Media and CoolKicks, the Banana Bill is embedding ApeChain at the center of meaningful Web3 activity.”
As the Banana Bill team continues to vet and fund builders in the ApeChain ecosystem, and encourage those outside the $Ape community to check it out, they emphasized the importance of understanding build cycles, evolving metas, and creating for the future and the now!
“Another challenge faced by the Banana Bill is the structural misalignment between the build cycles of serious projects and the rapidly shifting “metas” that dominate crypto market narratives,” the team wrote. “To navigate this tension, the Banana Bill team is actively working to balance investments across temporal horizons—supporting high- potential teams building foundational primitives while remaining agile enough to selectively engage with emerging trends that align with ApeChain’s core strengths, such as NFTs, gaming, and culture. This hybrid approach is essential to ensure that ApeChain remains both resilient and relevant across cycles.”
Looking ahead, the Banana Bill team teased seven redacted projects currently in development across Media, Real World Fine Art, DeFi, Gaming, Betting, Builder Support, and Infrastructure.
