BIRB IS THE WORD: BAYC Member Adam Weitsman Buys His First Moonbird And It’s As Glitchy As It Is Rare!

Birbs of a Feather Collect Together! On Thursday, Bored Ape Yacht Club member and entrepreneur Adam Weitsman picked up his first-ever Moonbird and it's as glitchy as it is rare!

The Moonbirds flock was flying high this morning after notable NFT collector and Yuga Maxi Weitsman and longtime Moonbird holder and artist Nix.eth struck an over-the-counter deal for the extremely rare Glitch Moonbird #668.

“Decided to help support a few other projects this week,” Weitsman tweeted. “Moonbird #668 joins the family. I believe in Yuga more than ever. Special thanks  @nix_eth for the flawless transaction.”

After Weitsman’s pickup, Birbs, Apes, and NFT enjoyers from across the Web3 world squawked, chirped, and congratulated him on another high-end acquisition.

As the community celebrated, Nix.eth tweeted that while he’s sad to see his birb fly away, he’s glad it landed with a top-tier collector!

“Guardian Glitch #668, the rarest @moonbirds, just joined so many other Yuga grails in @AdamWeitsman 's vault. A bit sad to see it move on, but I don’t think it could have gone to a better steward.

Weitsman's Moonbird purchase comes just two weeks after Yuga Labs released a 94-page Moonbirds Community Story Guide, laying out the lore, themes, and mystical characters that define the flock’s universe.

While it’s unclear whether the new lore played a role in Weitsman’s decision to join the Moonbirds, one thing is clear: he’s bullish on Yuga Labs.

Today Weitsman holds five of the 13 Mega Mutant Apes, three Bored Apes, one additional Mutant Ape, a Meebit, four Mega Kodas, 1,404 Otherdeeds, three Bored Ape Kennel Club pups, the Golden Key from Dookey Dash, 499 HV-MTLs, a CryptoPunk, and now a Moonbird!

After today’s big birb move, Weitsman hinted at his next dream purchase, acquiring the last Mega Mutant Serum, chugging it live at ApeFest 2025 in Las Vegas, and broadcasting the mutation on the Sphere.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Weitsman and will let you know what he does next. Stay tuned for updates!
