A cold blooded collector is hosting a heater of an event this Art Blocks Marfa Weekend, and everyone is invited!

As digital artists and NFT enthusiasts descend on the tiny Texas town of Marfa for the sixth annual Art Blocks Marfa Weekend, noted NFT collector and Creepz whale Adam Weitsman is slithering into town to throw a reptile worthy raver of a celebration at a theater that's been abandoned for half a century!

And that's not all! Along with bringing collectors together for a night of fun, Weitsman's event will feature a special unveiling of a “masterwork” by digital artist A.C.K.!

“Very excited for my event tomorrow night Saturday at 8pm (might want to get there a little early) in downtown Marfa at the Old Palace Theatre that’s been abandoned for the past 50 years,” Weitsman tweeted. “Working around the clock with the crew to get it ready… Really excited to throw this for the entire community. Everyone invited, free, no charge, no shill guaranteed! Going to be next level kinda stupid crazy.”

While Saturday's celebration is open to everyone, the event appears to have a distinctly Creepz inspired theme, which should come as no surprise to anyone who's followed Weitsman's recent moves in the NFT space!

As the Gazette prevously reported back in July, Wietsman made acquired nearly 700 Creepz.

“Very important for me to show a real vested interest in the collections and communities I believe in and speak about,” Weitsman tweeted at the time. “I love the art of  @psychrome and believe in the new  @creepz leaders vision and passion.”

But Weitsman's weekend in Marfa isn't just about Creepz, collecting, or throwing an unforgettable party. It's also about supporting the artists who make the NFT space what it is!

Along with hosting Saturday's event, Weitsman said he hopes to meet and support as many digital artists as possible during his time in Texas, emphasizing that the creators themselves deserve more recognition than the collectors who purchase their work.

“My goal here at Art Blocks is to meet and show respect to as many artists as humanly possible for the next few days,” he tweeted. “Trying to be a patron of the arts and supporting artists is a big responsibility for me that I don’t take lightly. People like me that purchase art get way more credit than we should. The spotlight should always remain on the artists themselves that are taking the risks to push this movement forward.”

Weitsman's free event is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, at 8 p.m. at the Old Palace Theatre, located at 220 N. Highland Street in downtown Marfa, Texas.

The Gazette will continue to follow all things Art Blocks Marfa Weekend and will let you know how Weitsman's cold-blooded celebration goes, along with what he and A.C.K. unveil. Stay tuned for updates!
