CAW FOR CARDS: Moonbirds Drops Limited Time Trading Cards Based On Its New Mini-Series, Birb Origins

From an AI generated cartoon series to a collection of physical trading cards, Moonbirds announced its all new “Birb Origins” card set featuring characters from the show’s first three episodes!

On Thursday, Moonbirds’ new mini-series, Birb Origins, left the nest and took flight to the real world with a limited time trading card sale.

“The first ever AI generated Birb collectibles are here,” Moonbirds tweeted. “Birb cards from your favorite Birb Origins episodes now live for only $2 per card. Sale is live for 24 hours. Card Rarities: Non-Foil (Common) - 90% Foil (Uncommon) - 8% Birb Foil (Rare) - 2% Serialized /10 Birb Foil (Epic Rare) - ?% For every 10 cards purchased you are automatically included one free Secret Rare.”

 

 

With this move, Moonbirds hopes to expand its IP beyond Web3 and further experiment with its new AI driven storytelling and collectibles approach.

As the Gazette previously reported, Moonbirds first debuted Birb Origins last month, exploring the world of Moonbirds while setting up a larger journey ahead for its mascot, Birb.

 

Tonight, it remains to be seen how collectors will react to Moonbirds’ first limited time Birb Origins trading card drop. But one thing is clear: Moonbirds CEO Spencer believes building strong IP is critical not just for Moonbirds, but for crypto at large.

“The reason NFTs will win in the long run is because IP development is an actual use case for crypto,” he tweeted on April 27th. “Many other things in the space will fail because they are over financialized and don’t solve a real problem. Defi fails when the risk outweighs the yeild. NFTs can only fail if the IP becomes irrelevant. North Korea can increase the risk of your defi protocol but it cannot dilute the relevance of your IP. Lesson there.”
