CLEAR EYES, BLUE BEAMS, CAN'T LOSE: BAYC Member DJ Basiks Purchases A Blue Beams Ape For 40 Eth Or $71K!

Clear eyes, blue beams, can't lose! Just months after picking up his first Bored Ape, DJ Basiks added a Blue Beams primate to his collection because he's clear eyed about his conviction in the Bored Ape Yacht Club.

Things were anything but boring this weekend when Yuga Labs' over the counter trading desk, GrailsOTC, announced that BAYC member DJ Basiks had purchased Bored Ape #8436 for 40 Eth, or $71,600 USD.

 

For DJ Basiks, the decision to add the grail to his collection came down to two things. First was what has drawn so many of us into the swamp over the years, the art.

“As an art lover I always wanted a statement piece and blue beams was my way of treating myself to that,” he explained.

 

Bored Ape #8436 is a six trait, noise fur primate with Guayabera shirt, an orange beanie, and of course blue beam eyes, making it one of the rarest apes, according to OpenSea data.

 

But beyond the J-Peg, DJ Basiks said it was the BAYC community, and the team at Yuga Labs continuing to build through both bull and bear markets, that ultimately that opened his eyes on Apes!

 

“After buying my first OG Ape and attended the MTL Ape meet up it only solidified my conviction for BAYC,” he said. “the time felt right and I see BAYC as only up from here. Still building momentum in this bear isn’t easy yet they found a way so I think we’ll only be surprised what comes next. Like all great things they take time.”

 

With this weekend's pickup, DJ Basiks now owns two Bored Apes and one Mutant Ape, according to OpenSea data. Check out his growing collection below:
