From clues to profile changes, "Collectors Collect," but what does it all mean?

On Saturday, the Bored Ape Yacht Club took to the timeline with another rustic red clue about this year's flagship event, simply stating, "COLLECTORS COLLECT."
Shortly after making the post, the club changed its profile photo from its classic Ape skull to a red one.

Today's tweet is the third clue Yuga Labs has dropped regarding ApeFest 2026. As the Gazette previously reported, the company shared the numbers "10.17" and "USA" on Thursday and Friday, leading many to believe that ApeFest will take place on October 17 in America.
Today's tweet and subsequent profile photo update left Apes with more questions than answers about ApeFest 2026, with many still suspecting it's happening in Miami, while others have suggested that the "S C" in COLLECTORS COLLECT could point to South Carolina.
Not to speculate too much, but this South Carolina connection could be something. Web3 artist Beeple’s studio is there and he and Yuga Labs CEO Michael Figge go way back. But again, your guess is as good as mine.

As Apes keep reading the tea leaves, everyone can expect to learn more about ApeFest soon.
On Thursday, Figge stopped by the club's Meet at the Clubhouse Space and told listeners that he and the team will be releasing the most thorough ApeFest document ever in due time because ‘people need to know when that is and where that is.’
