CURTAIN CALL?: ApeCoin Teases That Spotlight Season 2 On Apechain Is Coming Soon!

Spotlight Season 2 may be having its ApeChain curtain call soon after the token tweeted about the popular program earlier this evening!

ApeChain summer is heating up after the ApeCoin intern teased Spotlight Season 2 with a nostalgic 90s twist Monday night.

“Wen Spotlight?”, the intern tweeted along with a graphic that mirrors the iconic “Who’s That Pokémon” screen from the classic cartoon with the silhouette of a Clutch Puppies NFT!

 

Following the intern’s post, ApeChain Community Lead NGBShpend doubled down on the timing, writing, “Soon right?” So, in short, Spotlight Season 2 might be really soon!

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Spotlight is ApeCoin’s rewards program designed to incentivize $Apes to check out featured dApps.

“Spotlight is the ApeChain points and loyalty program, and we are flipping the points meta on its head,” ApeChain’s  Waabam said at ApeFest 2024 when he and the team first announced Spotlight. “Rather lots of different games and dApps, on Spotlight we are going to focus on one dApp at a time. Its simple. Its fun, and tasks will be enjoyable to complete. The other thing we are doing with Spotlight is that the rewards will not be ApeCoin…Instead we are leveraging the Banana Bill and the different commercial agreements that were made and those will be the rewards on Spotlight.”

 

Season 1 of Spotlight focused on Magic Eden and encouraged everyone to ape into ApeChain NFTs. The top-performing communities were rewarded with five and six figure floor sweeps, while individual users won incredible prizes like a day with Garga, Bored Apes, and more!

 

At this time, not much is known about Spotlight Season 2. But we do know that it will build upon Season 1 in some way, according to the initiative’s Medium page.

“The NFTs featured as multiplier boosters this season will continue to play a role in Season 2, allowing players to leverage their assets for additional benefits,” ApeCoin wrote in March. “More details on how these NFTs will factor into the upcoming season will be shared during the intermission period.”
