DAO-N TO VOTE: Yuga Labs Plans To Start Voting At The ApeCoin DAO With 6.9 Million $Ape, Becoming The Largest Delegation

2025 is shaping up to be the year of the vote as Yuga Labs announces it will take an active role in the $Ape ecosystem, using 6.9 million of its coins to vote on proposals moving forward!

Things were anything but boring on ApeChain Friday after Yuga Labs announced it will start voting in the ApeCoin DAO, nearly two years after the DAO's founding.

“Yuga will begin voting with 6.9M of its ApeCoin in the next DAO voting cycle,” the company tweeted.

With Yuga Labs preparing to vote in the cycle starting on January 16th, the power dynamics within the DAO are about to change dramatically.

Holding 6.9 million $Ape, Yuga Labs will become the largest single voter in the ecosystem, surpassing the current top delegations: Made By Apes by roughly 400,000 votes and Mocaverse by about 700,000 votes.

While Yuga Labs plans to participate in DAO governance, it won’t weigh in on every proposal.

“Expect many or most of our votes will be abstentions,” Yuga Labs CEO Garga tweeted. “But as we've always said, we'll vote if we feel like doing so is important for the health of the DAO,”

 

 

After the announcement, many longtime BAYC members took to social media to thank Yuga Labs for finally ape-ing into the DAO and expressed hope for the future of $Ape and the AIP process.

“Reading between the lines, it looks like Yuga plans to play a bigger role in stopping large wallets from tipping the scales on frivolous spending,” BAYC member and The Everything Token Author Steve Bark tweeted. “If my read is right, it's a good thing. I expect pushback on that decision, but I trust Yuga to help us steer clear of bad AIPs.”
