From pulling up in cars to pulling cards from packs, BMW shifted gears with the Bored Ape Yacht Club as the luxury automaker raced into the club's all new trading card game, Mudwater!

Over the weekend, Apes, their plus ones, and friends of Beeple were treated to an unexpected collectible as they entered Beeple Studios for ApeFest 2026, receiving an exclusive BMW x Mudwater promo card before any of them even knew the game existed!

The card, titled Blissfully Unbothered, which we all were, pays homage to the 1988 anime film Akira, featuring an overhead shot of BAYC mascot Curtis rocking a Bored Ape Bimmer Club jacket as he approaches a covered-up BMW!

As the Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs stealth launched its first ever trading card game, Mudwater, in partnership with Orange Cap Games during ApeFest 2026 at Beeple Studios.

“Super awesome to get to print the BMW promo with @BoredApeYC as part of the Mudwater launch,” Orange Cap Games’ Spencer tweeted.

While this may be BMW's first Mudwater card, it's far from the automaker's first collaboration with the club!

As the Gazette previously reported, BMW has been pulling up to every ApeFest since 2023, beginning in Hong Kong, where the automaker brought out a BMW i5 M60 for a digital light show experience that let Apes project their primates onto the car!

The following year in Portugal, BMW launched its Bored Ape Bimmer Club clothing line with BAYC, invited attendees to experience a BAYC themed mixed reality race, and created a one of a kind “ApeMobile” with BAYC member Rida, which is now owned by fellow Ape Weidner Dennis!

Then, in 2025, the 109-year-old automaker officially joined the best club on the internet at ApeFest Las Vegas, introducing everyone to their Bored Ape named Max!

“BMW took another huge step this evening to align themselves with BAYC, they’re one of us now,” Garga said during his keynote speech at ApeFest. “Meet Max.”

The Gazette will continue to follow all things B(ored)MW around the swamp and will let you know what the automaker does next with the best club on the internet. Stay tuned for updates!
